After two miscarriages, this Univision news anchor is pregnant again: ‘Super happy’
It’s been a long road to motherhood for Michelle Galván.
Last week, the Univision personality announced her pregnancy to the world, but the news was bittersweet.
“With immense gratitude, unwavering FAITH and absolute happiness, we share that our miracle is on the way! Our prayers have been heard!” read her Insta post. “Thank you for all the love and support we received while waiting for our greatest dream.”
Galván, who suffers from often crippling endometriosis — when tissue grows outside the uterus — was told by doctors that she had a very small chance of carrying a baby to term.
The “Primer Impacto” host recently told People en Español that she never lost hope, and firmly believes that this pregnancy will stick.
“I’m super happy,” the 32 year old native Mexican said in the most recent issue. “We’ve been waiting for years. After the storm we feel we are about to see the rainbow.”
Galván, who is married to Mexican businessman Fernando Guajardo, said she fell into a depression after losing her baby at six months’ gestation back in 2017. The experience was so traumatizing that she had to take a leave of absence from work and get into therapy, she added.
The following year, the reporter learned that she was pregnant again, but had yet another miscarriage.
Despite the emotional rollercoaster of living month to month and dealing with fertility treatments, the couple did not lose faith that one day Galván would be a mom, she said.
And — surprise! — she and Guajardo conceived the natural way.
The TV star is roughly four months along and we wish her and her family the best of luck.
The gender wasn’t revealed, but she is taking name suggestions from fans.
