There are ‘Hamilton’ tickets selling for $10 in Miami. Here’s how to get them
The “Hamilton” ticket lottery is here, Miami. How broke, scrappy and hungry are you?
The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, which starts its first Miami run at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts this month, has announced the #HamForHam digital ticket lottery. The lottery offers 40 $10 tickets for every performance, a practice started when the show first debuted in 2015.
“Hamilton” runs from Feb. 18-March 15 at the Arsht. So summon all the courage you require and get ready. Here’s what you need to know to enter the lottery:
The lottery opens at 11 am. Feb. 16 for tickets to the Feb. 18 performance. Every lottery begins two days before each performance and closes for entry 9 a.m. the day before each performance until the last show on March 15. Winners and non-winners will be notified between noon and 4 p.m. the day before each performance by email or text.
You can enter using the official Hamilton app or register at hamiltonmusical.com/lottery. If you win, you can buy two tickets online with a credit card by 4 p.m. the day before the performance. If you don’t claim your tickets by that time, you have officially thrown away your shot.
Also: Don’t try to enter more than once for each show. Repeat entries get tossed, so it’s pointless.
If you’re a lucky winner, you can pick up the tickets at will call two hours before the show with a valid photo ID. And don’t even think of trying to sell the them: Lottery tickets can’t be resold.
