‘We have to be good to each other’: Lizzo pays tribute to Kobe at Miami concert
Lizzo knows how to put on a show. Her fans already know this. Maybe the NFL needs to think about booking the newly minted Grammy winner for the next Super Bowl halftime show? Just thinking out loud here.
The larger than life entertainer put on an exclusive concert Thursday night for SiriusXM and Pandora subscribers at The Fillmore Miami Beach.
Dressed in a tight blue rhinestone encrusted body suit, Lizzo belted out “Good as Hell,” dedicating the hit to late basketball legend Kobe Bryant.
“I can’t be at the largest sporting event of the year without mentioning the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna,” said the 31-year-old born Melissa Viviane Jefferson. “We can’t be at this event and not think of them in our hearts and hold them up and honor them as sports fans, as music fans, as human beings.”
Lizzo stressed the importance of appreciating your loved ones and not sweating the small stuff.
“We have to be good to each other,” continued the Detroit native. “We don’t know what tomorrow holds. We don’t know if tomorrow’s promised. So I want you all to just really dig down deep inside and be good to yourself, be good to your family. If you have any beef with your family, squash that...”
Then, a surprise guest: Harry Styles. The former One Direction member jumped on stage for an energetic duet of their single “Juice.”
These two will go back at it Friday night to headline the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl party at Meridian at Island Gardens.
Is this the most unconventional, coolest pairing, or what?
