Lil Wayne will do a concert in Miami before the Super Bowl (assuming he’s not in court)
Lil Wayne is not one to miss a big party.
The rapper is set to perform at “Delano Live Presented by TIDAL” concert Super Bowl weekend, on Jan. 31 at Delano South Beach.
The TIDAL concert series first launched with a headlining performance by DJ Khaled during Miami Art Week back in December. Attendees watched the “All the Way Up” singer do a compilation of his greatest hits on a stage built atop the luxury property’s iconic pool.
Weezy is up for a Grammy for his work on “Scared of the Dark,” a song from the official movie soundtrack of “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse,” but we’re not sure that’s on the evening’s set list.
What we do know is that the 37 year old hip hopper better be on his best behavior. On Dec. 23, 2019, a private jet on which Wayne was a passenger was stopped at Miami-Opa locka Executive Airport by federal agents who found drugs (including prescription-strength cough syrup often used to make “Drank”), plus $25K in cash, bullets and a firearm aboard.
The Young Money mogul told law enforcement that the gold plated gun had been given to him as “a Father’s Day gift.”
Wayne was convicted in a weapons case over a decade ago in New York City, so not good, not good.
No immediate charges were filed, but could be filed in federal court soon, the Miami Herald reported.
No need to take any planes for the weekend, anyway. The entertainer, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., owns a sweet crib in Miami Beach. Stay local, buddy.
