If every rock act that uttered “farewell tour” stuck to their word, the concert industry would go out of business.

So what if Mötley Crüe signed an actual cessation contract after the end of the hard rock band’s Final Tour in 2015?

The band blew up its contract — literally, with a stunt explosion for a video — and announced a reunion tour. That resumption tour is opening at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on July 7, 2020.

Also on the bill: Fellow ‘80s hard rock titans Def Leppard and Poison, and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. They love rock ‘n’ roll. Dig it.

Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9. The Crüe also plays the Camping World Stadium in Orlando on July 9.

Bassist Nikki Sixx told Rolling Stone that there was a “loophole” in their “cessation of touring agreement” that said if all four members of the band — including Vince Neil, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars — agreed to do it, “we could override our own contract.”

Back during the 2015 Farewell Tour, Sixx also told Rolling Stone that it was really over, another tour “will never happen. There are people in this band who will refuse to ever do it again, and you’re talking to one of them. There is no amount of money that would ever make me do it again because I have such pride in how we’re ending it.”

Presumably, Mötley Crüe’s reunion comes at a time when the members saw an opportunity to cash in. Netflix’s “The Dirt” came out earlier this year and the gnarly biopic reignited interest in the group reuniting, Metal Injection reported.
