Local cancer survivor Patricia San Pedro rubbing elbows with Grammys celebs
Patricia San Pedro has gone Hollywood. The breast cancer survivor’s book, The Cancer Dancer – Healing One Step at a Time, has found its way inside the 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards® Gift Bag.
“I am thrilled that every performer and presenter at the GRAMMY Awards will have a copy of my book,” she said in a release. “It’s not your typical gift, I know, but everyone knows someone touched by cancer.”
She adds that the Grammys is a fitting occasion. “Music has always been so healing for me, but it was especially so while I was undergoing breast cancer treatment.” Pat, always one to see the glass half full, made light of her illness, even dancing the Chemo Conga during therapy (check it out on YouTube). Or read about her journey with invasive ductal carcinoma (Stage 1) and a bilteral mastectomy on positivelypat.com. Positive is right.
“For me, cancer has gone from being a dreaded enemy to a catalyst for my own growth,” the author writes. “I received the All Clear a few months ago. I am happy, healthy and so very grateful. Now…it’s time to pay it forward. I am dedicating my life to helping others live a positive, joyful life, no matter.”
