Where you’ll find Gabrielle Union in Miami
We spoke to Ocean Drive cover girl, actress Gabrielle Union, who is getting a party in her honor Monday night at the Delano. The upcoming Good Deeds star talked about her part time home of Miami and how she spends her time with and without boyfriend, Heat star Dwyane Wade.
What are some of your favorite places to visit when you’re in Miami?
Well, me and D, we rarely get to have a day off together, but when we do we love to go to the spa at One Bal Harbour. It’s awesome. We’ve been going for a couple years and it never, never ceases to amaze me how relaxed and rejuvenated we feel when we leave. Shopping, it’s The Webster, Intermix in Miami Beach and En Avance in the Design District. My girl Karen works there, and I can always, after I feed my face at Morgans, go across the street and find something over there.
Any other places to grab a bite?
I haven’t figured out the food truck schedule in Miami. A group of people like to ‘pregame.’ We always hit up Michael’s Genuine, City Hall. If I’m not driving, I like to have wine and sit outside at Quattro on Lincoln Road. Or if it’s super casual, I like to go to Burger & Beer Joint.
What else do you do in your free time?
I love to hang out at the beach, just to sit out there. I love to do beach walks to kind of decompress with the girls and burn calories at the same time. I love to just sort of people watch. The Design District is one of my favorite places to walk around and look at the furniture stores.
What is something fans may not know about you?
I’m addicted to Twizzlers. I go into CVS just to buy large packs. And I don’t know if people really understand how much I love books. Even though I got a Kindle for Christmas, I love the smell of books; I love turning the page; I love dog-earing things and highlighting the passages. I love fiction and kind of losing myself. So everywhere from Aventura to Key Biscayne you will find me in bookstores sitting cross-legged on the ground.
