Villla Mayfair lounge and restaurant a new hot spot in Coconut Grove

Avoid the exclusive craziness of South Beach and soak up the same hip, yet more relaxed ambience at a new mod-Med spot in Coconut Grove. Villa Mayfair Restaurant and Lounge (not at the Mayfair hotel, but close) is already a magnet for celebrities. Iggy Pop popped in for a rich meal of artichoke truffle soup, risotto with baby portobello mushrooms and Valrhona chocolate cake. The food by Frederic Joulin (who studied under 3-Michelin star chef Guy Savoy) is as decadent as the decor, designed by Francois Frossard, the man behind The Forge, Prive and Opium. After din-din, grab a drink at the opulent bar. Must-try: the Victoria’s Secret, with fresh strawberries, cocchi americano (apertif wine) and tequila. You’ll be jamming to the in house DJ’s beats in no time.
