Pokemon Go Invades Miami and here’s our cheat sheet

All of Miami is into Pokemon Go, the new, free augmented-reality app based on the popular Nintendo game. But what if you’re new to the Pokemon craze and want to catch up quickly?

Well, here is our cheat sheet, made up of some links to help you out and get you going….

What is this craze really all about?

Emily Cochrane from The Miami Herald explains how people of all ages (but mostly in their 20s and 30s) are rekindling their youth with the Pokemon Go game, and locations throughout Miami-Dade County, like the Officers’ Memorial outside the Miami Beach Police Department, are PokeStops.

Once you have downloaded the app, you can go anywhere to play – that’s the whole point of the game. Juan Barquin of Miami New Times presents a list of the 10 best places to play Pokemon Go in Miami – from Dolphin Mall to the campus of FIU or UM, Wynwood and any strip of beach.


What about in my neighborhood?

PokemonGo305 is a website dedicated to the game here in South Florida, and they have a slick map that charts the locations of characters, gyms and PokeStops. The map has been viewed over 23,000 times in less than 2 days!!
