The struggle is real for ‘WAGS Miami’ stars in season 2
It’s not easy being the new kid on the “WAGs Miami” block.
But Faven Liuget is ready for the challenge on season 2 of the E! reality show, whose title is an acronym for Wives and Girlfriends.
The eight women, who were at a premiere party at Faena Miami Beach last week, do their thing on the Sunday night series while their men — be they boyfriends, baby daddies, husbands or exes — do their thing on the field.
This season will be much more of the same: exotic trips, sexy fashion, upscale events, with Miami as the gorgeous backdrop.
The WAG life is not all glitz and glamour, though, says Liuget, who is married to San Diego Chargers player Corey Liuget, a Miami native.
“I’m still navigating this new world,” admits Liuget, who runs a men’s suit company for big and tall men, American Maceoo. “People just think of us kind of having these amazing lives, and we do. We have everything we would ever want or need, but there’s another side.”
The mother of two says moving to Miami from San Diego has been a transition.
“Viewers will see that it’s not easy for me, for any of us. I’m still figuring it out, how to be a great mom and wife.”
Ashley Nicole Wheeler, who wed Arizona Cardinals player Philip Wheeler in May, seconds that emotion.
“Married life was great — until about a month ago!” Wheeler laughs. “Then training camp happened. I don’t have family here and not that many friends. I’m home taking care of myself and my son. I joke that I am a single parent. I mean, I’m not complaining. It is what it is.”
Besides, Wheeler does have her fellow castmates.
“We are close. That’s part of being a WAG. At the end of the day, it’s about girls bonding and getting down to the nitty gritty and holding each other accountable,” she says. “We’re going to be here for each other.”
Wheeler isn’t exactly sitting at home eating carrot sticks. The model and captain in the Army Reserves has a haircare line she developed after getting so much positive response after season 1.
“Fans would send me emails and messages saying, ‘How do you get your hair so gorgeous?’ So I started my own product line called Ashe Hair Care System. I work hard.”
