Not liking quarantine life? Listen to Cardi B scream coronavirus over a beat for two minutes

Let’s be honest: quarantine life sucks.

Between the overcrowded grocery stores, cabin fever and no sports, the entire country needs something fun. Enter DJ iMarkkeyz.

The Brooklyn-born producer’s “Coronavirus” has quickly become the soundtrack to the corona-crisis. All it took was a Cardi B rant, some 808s, perfect timing and voilà — a smash hit that currently sits at No. 3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop chart as of Tuesday afternoon.

“For me to see everyone dancing, smiling, and not living in fear ... that’s the greatest thing I can do,” iMarkkeyz told BuzzFeed News on Monday.

iMarkkeyz posted the song, which samples Cardi saying “coronavirus — shit is real,” Friday on Twitter and it quickly went viral. A dance has begun circulating on social media.

Brazil has already hopped on the wave.

Even Cardi herself has taken notice.

What iMarkkeyz ultimately gave the world was a distraction. With all the talk of death rates, positive cases and everything else virus-related, it’s easy to get lost in the morbidity of the situation. People need laughter at times like these and hopefully this song gives them a reason to smile.

If not, try grabbing a friend and doing your best #Cardicoronaviruschallenge impression. Just be sure to practice good social distancing while you’re doing it.
