5 Miami shows Shonda Rhimes should make for Netflix
The Queen of ABC, Shonda Rhimes, is taking her talents to Netflix, where she will be given carte blanche to create any kind of new show she wants. Before she starts rejecting scripts, here are a few Made-In-Dade stories we think she needs to green light immediately.
'Escándalo'
Follow the story of Hannah Nadaro, a Miami-based political operative who finds herself at odds with her entire political party. With her team of fixers, she plots to oust the current power structure. She also drinks a lot of wine, but she is definitely not having an affair with POTUS.
'How to Get Away With Murder on the Palmetto'
This show follows a plucky traffic cop who has to deal with Miami’s increasingly violent road rage incidents in a city where no one believes in public transportation.
'Saguesera Regional'
A team of young, good-looking interns working at a Miami hospital all try to find love while attending to really old patients.
'The Catch' redux
A female fraud investigator whose career specialty is exposing Medicare fraud never sleeps and has no social life.
'El Doctor'
After the failed “A corazón abierto,” the Spanish language “Grey’s Anatomy” that lasted two seasons on Telemundo, Netflix should double down on what its Spanish speakers really want – shows about narcos. With Rhimes’ help, they can produce a series about the smoking hot doctor who gives narcos their prostate exams and patches them up after battles with rivals.
