Itty bitty keyboard
When your tablet’s touchscreen keyboard just won’t cut it, here’s a new candidate for a real keyboard that plays well with most electronic devices — as long as they are Bluetooth enabled. The Rapoo E6700 Bluetooth Touchpad Keyboard is a 13-inch by 4-inch slim wisp of a keyboard with 82 nice big — and nicely spaced — chiclet keys, and an integrated multi-function built-in trackpad to the right of the keys. This wireless wonder pairs easily, and runs on an included re-chargeable Li-ion battery (USB charging cable included) that can go two weeks on a single charge. Thanks to the tough but featherweight aluminum alloy housing, the keyboard weighs in at just a tad over half a pound. The keyboard is great for basic typing with any operating system, but it shines with Windows (especially Windows 8) thanks to dedicated smart-function keys and trackpad swiping gestures that just don't work with Apple devices. Perhaps the next model will fix that. Meanwhile, for those of us who just want to type, the E6700 is a great tool, and you even get a choice of colors for the housing — turquoise anyone?
Rapoo E6700 Bluetooth Touchpad Keyboard is about $60. Info at www.rapoo.com.
