Gear + Gadgets: Jewelry hang up

Jewelinx hanging jewelry organizer
Jewelinx hanging jewelry organizer

When traveling, I like to set out ahead of time the day or evening’s clothing, complete with jewelry. I’ve usually hung my necklace, bangle bracelets, and a ring or three from the head of the hanger holding my outfit. The jewelry is all jumbled together, and more than once I’ve inadvertently left a piece or two behind, still hanging from the hotel hanger, when I checked out.

Thank you, Jewelinx, for providing a much better system for organizing my “look,” while reducing the likelihood of my leaving jewelry dangling at departure. The Jewelinx is a simple yet ingenious little jewelry organizer consisting of a 4.5-inch-long by 3-inch-wide flattish plastic “tree,” with a pair of integrated plastic prongs protruding from the front (for draping necklaces), and, below them, two outwardly upcurving hooks for holding bracelets, rings, a watch. Pairs of holes in the sturdy plastic, in varying sizes, provide ideal spaces for securing pierced or clip-on earrings.

An integrated rigid plastic loop on the back of the Jewelinx slips over the hanger head. Voila, you have your jewelry attractively displayed with your clothing, but too overt on its elaborate perch to go unnoticed when packing up.

The Jewelinx comes in white, black or strawberry pink, and can be purchased individually or in combo-colored packs of 5 or 7 — for laying out a whole week’s worth of looks, should you travel so accessorized.

Jewelinx is $10.99; combo-colored 5-pack, $49.99; 7-pack, $69.99 at www.hangerjewelinx.com.
