Here’s a welcome alternative to stuffing the items you’ll need while flying into the seat back pocket in front of you (and yuck to what we have found inside those seat back pockets).
The TAB:Messenger SeatBack Pocket Organizer is an 11-inch, by 10.5-inch by 1.5-inch-thick polyester shoulder bag that slips into the seat back pocket or hangs from your tray table legs via two included SnapStraps. The organizer contains six internal compartments, including a padded divider for a tablet computer or e-reader, and two removable insert bags for small essentials.
The design makes for easy access to cables and headphones, magazines, toiletries — you name it. The Messenger’s gusseted sidewalls expand to nearly 5 inches, enough to accommodate your gear while fitting nicely into the seat back pocket. The bag’s magnetic-closure cover flap hangs over the seat back pocket edge as a reminder not to de-plane without your stuff.
The bag includes a headphone hook, pen and eyeglass loops, an external zippered pocket for documents, and an adjustable and removable 60-inch cross-body strap. A new model, the leather TAB:ZipSleeve, a zippered envelope-style bag, which is otherwise designed much like the Messenger, was recently introduced.
TAB:Messenger SeatBack Pocket Organizer in black or gray polyester is $60; TAB:ZipSleeve in green or gray leather is $140 at www.walterandray.com.
