Gear + gadgets: Power of the pen holder
Whether you’re toting around a tablet computer, electronic book reader or personal journal — or a mixed bag — wouldn’t it be great to always have handy a pen or stylus? Not in a pocket or a bag or somewhere close (you hope), but right there to see, ready for duty.
The new Quiver Pen Holder is an elegant solution. Handcrafted of Napa leather, the Quiver looks like a long, thick leather bookmark, with a built-in pouch running its length for holding a pen, stylus, pencil, or other writing implement. An integrated elastic strap slides onto a hardcover notebook or electronic device up to the size of a tablet (it does not interfere with auto-off functions), while a steel spring helps keep the Quiver flat. An optional adaptor for soft-cover writing pads and journals is available.
Quivers come in a range of sizes, from small to large writing notebooks, tablets and e-readers, in single or double pen and/or stylus widths. Colors are natural shades of tan or black, and the stitching is with marine-quality thread, so water won’t cause deterioration (at least to the Quiver). Very classy.
Quiver Pen Holder is about $24 to $33, depending on size; adaptor for soft-cover notebooks is $2.50; at quiverglobal.com.
