Airlines are adding a bunch of new flights at the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports.
Here’s a rundown:
Frontier Airlines
Frontier Airlines of Denver is adding six new routes out of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as it seeks to grab the title of America’s low-fare king from South Florida-based Spirit Airlines, a carrier it repeatedly has failed to acquire, according to a report in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel..
The carrier’s latest route overhaul initiative is intended to attract new business in 20 U.S. metropolitan areas as well as in Latin America. The new routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International are all to and from large U.S. cities
They include Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Detroite, Chicago and Houston. From Miami International Airport, Frontier on Nov. 21 is adding three-times a week service to Detroit.

Spirit Airlines
Spirit Airlines is adding two international destinations from Fort Lauderdale, according to a report in the Miami Herald.
On Nov. 21, Spirit will start non-stop service, three times a week, between FLL and Belize City.On Dec. 4, Spirit will begin non-stop flights between FLL and Grand Cayman. The airline will offer three flights each week.
Spirit also is adding year-round flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Key West International Airport for the first time. On Nov. 6, Spirit will launch four weekly flights, on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Daily flights will begin on Dec. 18.

American Airlines
Travelers will soon have a new way to get from Miami to the financial and fashion center of Italy, and they can start booking tickets next week.
American Airlines is adding non-stop, daily service between MIA and Milan, betting on the appeal of its culture and wealth even as record numbers of Americans are already traveling to Europe and crowding its largest cities. Starting in March 2026, American says it will be the only carrier offering l offer non-stop service between MIA and Milan. American Airlines also has started a nonstop flight from Miami to Rome.

JetBlue
JetBlue plans to add service this year between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and four new cities: Norfolk, Virginia, Tampa, Atlanta and Austin. The Long Island City-based carrier will also increase frequency between FLL and Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Raleigh-Durham.
Seats on all flights can be booked now. They start taking off as early as Oct. 26.
