It’s July, but over 100,000 Christmas trees have been recalled. They might burn you

Don’t expect to find Home Accents Holiday Christmas trees in any Christmas in July sales. Willis Electric recalled about 104,100 of the trees sold in the U.S. and Canada.

The problem, as stated in the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission release: “The Christmas tree’s foot-pedal controller can overheat, posing a burn hazard.”

The recall follows 509 reports of the controller overheating, one of which led to a customer getting, literally, burned.

This covers 2019 Home Accent Holiday trees, 7.5 feet to 9 feet tall, sold exclusively at Home Depot. Model numbers involved are W14N0126 (SKU Nos. 1004363929, 1004213737), W14N0127 (SKU Nos. 1004391988, 1004147107), W14N0148 (SKU No. 213742), W14N0149 (SKU No. 213744), and W14N0157 (SKU Nos. 1004363928, 1004213736). You can find these on the cord of the tree.
