Decorating with color: Going grey
When you hear the word “grey,” what comes to mind? Fifty shades? Probably, with the recent release of the film version of Fifty Shades of Grey. It’s no surprise that this is the trending color for spring. Move over red, because grey just got sexy.
Like charcoal turns to fire, watch your bedroom be transformed when you add this as a versatile base to your palette. If the book was Fifty Shades of Red, you’d think it would be a murder mystery or a love story. Pink? Princesses and bubble gum. Grey represents casual sophistication and mystery and is unassuming. Grey moves and grooves and plays well with other colors (just like Christian Grey. Not.)
Grey is the new beige, going with literally every other color whether it be in a sofa, side chair, wall color or accent pillow or other accessories. The easiest color for the eye to handle, it’s a forgiving color that adds a touch of relaxation to any space.
