Charity tastings
▪ Taste of the Nation South Florida, to benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger, is 7-10 p.m. Thursday at the Loews Miami Beach, 1601 Collins Ave. Tickets ($125) include food from about 50 local restaurants and beer from local craft breweries, plus wine, cocktails and live and silent auctions. ▪ Flavors of Miami, to benefit the American Liver Foundation, begins with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a five-course wine dinner, at 5:30 p.m. on July 28 at the Loews Miami Beach, 1601 Collins Ave. Chefs from the Loews, El Cielo, Vagabond, Fooq’s, Azul and other top restaurants will cook tableside for guests. Tickets are $300 a person and are available at liverfoundation.org/flavorsofmiami.
Cooking classes
▪ Chef Tania Sigal hosts hands-on classes at 18685 W. Dixie Hwy. in Aventura: Salad as a Meal is 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 28, and Fast and Fabulous Fish is 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Aug. 11. Spaces are limited and cost $65 a person. Call 305-932-9425 or email cheftania@aol.com to reserve.
