Tiny jelly cups have been blamed in child choking deaths. These have been recalled
Tiny fruit jelly cups similar to those connected to children choking to death have been recalled by a Brooklyn, New York, distributor.
Xi Zhi Liang Fruit Jelly Cups with konjac powder are about 2 inches (5 millimeters) in diameter and have a best by date of 12.30.2020. They’re sold nationwide in backpacks that have several jelly cups and a Hot Wheels-style toy car.
“Small jelly cups containing konjac powder have previously been implicated in choking deaths of children,” the FDA-posted recall notice states. “Small konjac powder jelly cups are presently under FDA import alert 35-15 and are not permitted for entry into the United States.”
Those with the jelly cups are asked to return them to the store for a refund. Anyone with questions can call 718-308-1177 or email rongshing4757@gmail.com.
