Boating accident sends a child to trauma center
A collision between an individual watercraft (commonly called a “Jet Ski”) and a boat flung a child off the watercraft and against the side of the boat Friday morning, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Fire Rescue airlifted the child from North Dade to Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center. Fire Rescue wasn’t sure whether or not the child wore a life jacket.
According to Miami Herald news partner CBS4, the boat was parked near 3040 NW 190th Street in Miami Gardens.
