Palm Beach County Sheriff says man killed pulled a gun on deputy

A young man was shot and killed by a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy Saturday morning.

Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said from the scene of the shooting in Belle Glade that the victim was pulled over at about 11 a.m. for a routine traffic stop.

Bradshaw said the young man came out with either 9mm or 45 automatic handgun. He tried to make his way into an apartment building, but the deputy confronted him. The sheriff said the victim turned toward the deputy with the firearm and that the deputy shot the victim. The victim and the deputy have not been identified.
