Fatal crash shuts down southbound U.S. 1 in South Miami-Dade
A fatal crash shut down all southbound lanes on U.S. 1 between Southwest 136th and 144th streets. A car hit a pole after 6 a.m.
Officials opened up lanes at 7 a.m., but traffic is backed up for the morning rush hour. Nortbound traffic also is seeing rubber-necking delays, according to traffic reports.
Alternative routes include Southwest 92nd Avenue and Florida’s Turnpike.
