Police are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that killed an elderly homeless man.
Around 6 a.m., police found a walker and a pair of shoes near the intersection of Northwest 7th Street and 27th Avenue close to a bakery. The man’s body was found a few feet away.
Omar Siles knew the man and witnessed the accident. Siles said he saw the man every day when he went to buy bread and coffee from the bakery.
“I was driving. I had my vehicle and my son, and I saw the old man crossing,” he said. “I saw the car just hit him and pick him up. He didn’t even stop.”

Miami Police Officer Kenia Fallat said the car was a gray or silver Mazda pickup or SUV.
Police said the vehicle has extensive front-end damage and described the driver as a white man in his 50s wearing glasses.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
