Victim of Miami-Dade home invasion shooting in stable condition

Miami Dade’s robbery bureau is investigating a home invasion in which a homeowner was shot in the abdomen, police said Saturday.

Investigators said at 1:21 a.m., Eduardo Duran opened his front door where he was confronted by two armed men wearing dark clothing. After forcing their way into the home, the two gunmen demanded money and other valuables from Duran and then shot him.

The robbers fled the home on the 10900 block of Southwest 244th Terrace in a black vehicle, police said.

Duran was transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center where surgeons worked overnight to remove the bullet. Duran is listed in stable condition.
