The award-winning trial attorneys at Grossman Roth Yaffa Cohen are celebrating their firm’s 30th year serving Florida clients.

How long has the firm been serving South Florida clients? Since 1988 — 30 years.

How many attorneys work for the firm? We have 12 attorneys, with offices in Coral Gables, Boca Raton, Sarasota and Key West.

What are the firm’s legal specialties? Medical malpractice, personal injury and wrongful death, complex business litigation, class actions, aviation and other significant damage cases.

What is the best part about practicing law in South Florida? We cover both coasts of South Florida as well as the Florida Keys, and we love the diversity that exists in each community. We participate actively in community charities, arts and of course the legal community.

What sets your firm apart from others? What distinguishes our firm from others is the peer recognition that we have been fortunate enough to receive from judges and lawyers throughout the State of Florida. We are fearless advocates who invest our time and financial resources into only credible cases.  Our successful litigation track record speaks for itself and is unmatched.

Is there a particular case that exemplifies the firm’s work and success? There are many cases that we could cite, but Goldberg v. FPL is our most famous case. The Florida Supreme Court affirmed the largest verdict for wrongful death of a minor child and, at the same time, created new law as to the duties and responsibilities of this major utility toward the public it is supposed to serve.

What is something people may not know about your firm that you would like them to know? We are deeply committed to pediatric cancer research through Margaux’s Miracle Foundation and applaud the union of Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital with the Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Hospital. We’ve long had a foundation at Sloan Kettering and are pleased that this medical excellence is being brought to Miami through Baptist Hospital.

Does the firm have any major plans for 2018-’19? We don’t want to grow any larger, but we have added new lawyers in the past several years, and each of them have been superb additions. Our most recent lawyers are Rachel Furst, Eric Halsey, Julian Catala, William Mulligan and Alex Arteaga Gomez.
