One man is dead after being hit by a Tri-Rail train in Dania Beach Sunday, police say.
The crash happened on the northbound tracks near Anglers Avenue and Tigertail Boulevard at around 11 a.m. on the tracks, according to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. More than 100 passengers were left stranded for several hours just south of the Fort Lauderdale station.
There were no other injuries reported and the victim has yet to be identified. It’s the second train-related death in two days.
On Friday night, a pedestrian was killed by a Brightline train on the Florida East Coast railroad tracks in Hollywood near Fillmore Street and Dixie Highway, according to WSVN.
Local 10 reported that the victim, who has not been identified, “made no attempts to move out of the way,” according to a Brightline spokesman.
