Todd Tragash and his wife and partner Isabel Saavedra-Tragash—principals of STA Architectural Group, one of Miami’s most respected interior design and architecture firms—have made their careers out of creating luxurious settings.
They’ve renovated large, lavish spaces (like the Fisher Island Spa and Fitness), designed grandiose kitchens (like the one at the new Miami Culinary Institute) and updated some of South Florida’s most majestic homes (on Star Island, Bal Harbour, Golden Beach and more).
But their latest project, the Mansions at Acqualina on Collins Avenue in Sunny Isles, which broke ground this summer and is scheduled to open in Spring 2015, promises a new height of opulence, even for them. Developed by The Trump Group (no association with The Donald), with whom the design duo worked closely, the building is a 46-story luxury tower with more than 70 oceanfront units that range from 4,500 to 16,000 square feet a piece.
“We were asked to spare no expense,” says Todd. “So we searched the world for the best materials.” They certainly found them: rare woods and natural stones from the remotest locations on earth, sumptuous textures, details that sparkle and shine—all are featured in the impressive condos, billed as “the world’s finest residences.” Here, Todd and Isabel offer a tour of the model they created, and share with INDULGE a few tips on how to bring luxury into your own home. —BCW
