Michelin-starred Italian chef cooks a special meal at Valentino in Fort Lauderdale
Valentino Cucina Italiana in Fort Lauderdale partnered with GreatCulinaryMinds for a collaborative five-course dinner from Italian chefs Giovanni Rocchio of Valentino and Felix Lo Basso of the Michelin-starred Felix Lo Basso Restaurant in Milan. The chefs worked together to create an immersive menu showcasing Italy’s innovative cuisine trends, which they prepared during a daytime cooking class and an nighttime meal.
About Chef Felix Lo Basso
Chef Lo Basso, executive chef of his self-titled restaurant in Milan, earned a Michelin star in 2016. He also helms the kitchen at his seaside restaurant, Memorie, which is located in the ancient city of Trani on the Apulian coast. Lo Basso’s culinary inspiration is drawn from the sea and mountains, where he sources his ingredients. His high-level presentation and technique is illustrated in his imaginative signature dishes, which are rounded in rich Italian tradition.
About Chef Giovanni Rocchio
Like Lo Basso, Chef Rocchio has gastronomic passion running through his veins. A second-generation restaurateur, Rocchio worked alongside esteemed chefs in New York before opening Valentino in Fort Lauderdale. His menu is rich in contemporary Italian fare, including his celebrated air-light ricotta cavatelli with osso bucco and porcini mushrooms, handmade pastas and much more.
