How top beauty & fashion brands are stepping up to care for Miami hospitals’ frontline workers
From global brands to those in the Magic City, people are supporting doctors, nurses, and even their smallest patients in unprecedented levels of generosity.
Estée Lauder Travel Retail Americas recently donated over 1,400 products from La Mer, Clinique, Estée Lauder, Jo Malone London, Bobbi Brown, and more to nine South Florida hospitals including Jackson Memorial, Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, Kendall Regional, Memorial Regional, Memorial West, Mercy, Mount Sinai Medical Center, and Baptist Hospital. Guillaume Geslin, Vice President/General Manager of Estée Lauder Travel Retail Americas, explained why the company decided to support the South Florida hospital front liners in this remarkable way, “We wanted to donate our ‘Hero’ products to our local heroes- the products and brands we all know and love. The decision was also based on products we felt were essential during this time – products that target dry and tired skin.”
Neiman Marcus Coral Gables partnered with JOANN Fabric and Craft Stores to create scrubs and non-surgical masks to Baptist Health. Neiman’s asked for and received whimsical fabrics with florals, butterflies, birds, and even pizza designs from JOANN, in which Neiman’s alterations team created the outfits. Stuart Barnes, Director, Sales Experience at Neiman Marcus Coral Gables explains, “Neiman Marcus was so happy to help those who are helping so many. You don’t think of Neiman Marcus making these outfits and masks. It’s something we’ve never done before.”
Peace Love World — a Miami-based clothing company whose outfits are worn by Jennifer Lopez, Sofia Vergara and also kids — recently donated 10,000 clothing in size 12 months-14 kids to some of the frontline workers littlest patients at Baptist Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and Holtz Children’s Hospital. Founder and designer Alina Villasante said, “We have donated large quantities (of clothes) in the past, but not to this capacity…During these challenging times all we have is love…(and) I wanted to share it in a time where the world is starving for that.”
Mary Kay Global, the beauty company, donated over 7,500 hand sanitizers to Jackson and Baptist. The company has never manufactured hand sanitizer prior, and are now donating all hand sanitizers it produces.
