BOBBY METELUS

COVID-19 has quickly and suddenly changed our lives. How are you coping with being at home?

I’ve adjusted well. Failing at homeschooling {Laughs}. Besides that I’m making the most of my time with the wife and kids.

What about tv shows? Anything on your must-recommend list for folks at home? What is it about the show that you love?

I’ve always watched a lot of American Greed, LEGO Masters and Swamp People. American Greed because it’s educational in so many different ways. What to stay away from. What to look for. How people are getting taken advantage of out here. My son Josiah got me on LEGO masters. It’s such a tedious process. The people that do it are genius and their creations are amazing.

The 305 is known for its extensive and delicious restaurant options. With takeout/delivery being the only options these days, tell us your top spots to order from. Got a must-try dish you’d like to tell fans about?

We’ve been doing a lot of pick up from 800 Degrees in Aventura. Need my wings.

How about music? Any tunes you have on repeat?

I’ve been listening to a lot 90’s R&B. In my opinion that was the best era of music.

Not being able to workout at the gym has affected many Floridians. Can you tell us how you stay fit while staying at home?

I broke down and ordered me a peloton. I’m not a bike guy but I must admit it’s been a great investment.

Any lessons learned in basketball that you can apply/offer insight to others during these trying times?

Use this time to get better. Basketball is not all physical. Visualize yourself doing certain things. Achieving certain goals in life.

Any unexpected positives from your quarantine experience?

Spending some much needed time with my family. It’s been priceless. My kids and wife are really cool...

Do you have a mantra or quote that you love? If so, can you share it with us and tell us why it is meaningful to you?

Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. This applies in all walks of life, whatever your path or journey you have to be prepared for your moment because you never know when that might be.
