Sip exclusive wines from around the globe, no passport required, at Great Wines of the World USA in Miami

Wine lovers will gather at the Moore Building for the unprecedented wine extravaganza.

Hailed by many as the authority on the world’s best wines, and celebrating the 10th anniversary of his global wine media company JamesSuckling.com, acclaimed wine critic James Suckling will present the debut of a spectacular collection of wine at Great Wines of the World USA (already sold out unless you have connections) on January 23 and 24 at the Moore Building in Miami Design District.

The swank wine tasting event will feature an impressive line-up of more than 120 top wines from across the globe including Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, Opus and Antinori – all having scored a minimum of 90 points by James Suckling, with the majority scoring 95 points and above, including 16 perfect 100-point bottles.

Internationally-acclaimed wine critic, James Suckling.

“I hope that Great Wines of the World in Miami will become the iconic fine wine event for Latin America as well as the United States,” said James Suckling, who rated more than 25,000 wines from around the world with his small team of tasters. “Miami is the new center of the universe for fine wines and it is a portal for the fine wine world in Latin America, just like Hong Kong is for Asia.”

The toast of the town

The happenings begin with a welcome gala dinner, show and after party on the first evening and the Grand Tasting on the second. The sold-out dinner on January 23 will be organized by another lauded name many Miami residents will recognize, Gaston Acurio of La Mar, and will present amazing ceviches and other seafood to about 300 people. Suckling will also be handing out coveted awards for the wine of the decade, winery of the decade and winemaker of the decade.

While tickets for the main events are sold-out, wine aficionados can still purchase passes to the launch party on Thursday evening for $125, during which they can enjoy access to wines, as well as music and entertainment from former guitarist of the famous Australian rock band Empire of the Sun, Surahn Sidhu.

Suckling’s company organizes 25 wine events around the world that resemble rock concerts for wine with cool venues, video screens and curated music. Almost 30,000 people attend these events each year.

“I can’t think of a better place on earth than Miami to celebrate the best of the decade and 10 years of JamesSuckling.com!” said James Suckling. “Gracias Miami!”
