I admit I’ve never been excited about laundry day. Unlike washing the dishes, I can’t just load the machine, let it wash and forget it. I have to wash the clothes, place them in the dryer or hang them to dry depending on the day and then fold and store away. It’s a process and not always the most convenient when you have a busy schedule.

But it must be done, and I do have to say my favorite thing about washing is the feel and smell of freshly cleaned laundry.

For years, I’ve only used liquid detergent. Blame it on my mom, who thought only liquid detergent could remove stains and odor effectively. I’m also allergic to strong fragrances and rarely venture out of my usual liquid detergent to avoid any allergic reactions.

That changed recently when I started using Laundry Sauce detergent pods. My clothes have never felt softer and smelled better than with these pods and I don’t have to make sure I’m using enough detergent, or not using too much, because all I need to do is place a pod in my washing machine and load in my dirty laundry.

What I like

I received boxes of the detergent pods. There are a variety of scents to choose from, such as Crisp Bergamot, Woodleather, Indonesian Patchouli and Alaskan Cedarwood but my favorite so far was the Australian Sandalwood scent. There are 69 pods per box.

How I use my Laundry Sauce detergent pods

I have a top loading machine that holds about 6 pounds per load. Laundry Sauce recommends one pod per six pounds. I take one pod and place it in my washing machine first, before adding in my clothes.

What you should know

On average, laundry detergent pods are the more expensive option per load when compared to liquid and powder detergent options. Laundry Sauce boxes come with 69 pods at the cost of $69, which breaks down to $1 per load. You are also offered the option to subscribe and save 15% off bringing the cost down by about $10.

Plus, you can get 15% off your order by using the code HERALD15 at checkout.

Laundry Sauce offers free shipping when you subscribe, the ability to update your fragrance or subscription frequency at any time, and a happiness guarantee: if you’re not satisfied, they’ll make it right.

Plus, if you become a member, you’ll receive an extra 10% off, a free luxury three-wick candle, and a ready-to-use $25 store credit.

The bottom line

I don’t see myself walking from these pods because they offer me all the most convenient options. My laundry is left clean, smelling fantastic and the actual fabric feels softer than it did when I used liquid detergent.
