Miami natives and foodies nationwide likely recognize the name Adrianne Calvo. The local chef’s fine dining restaurant, Chef Adrianne’s Vineyard Restaurant & Bar, is popular for its Napa-inspired cuisine. She’s also been featured on NBC and The Montel Williams Show, has written numerous cookbooks, and even has her own line of wines. In 2023 she won the Herald Chef Showdown, and in 2024, had a highly memorable blindfolded restaurant pop-up.

So naturally, she has a host of cooking utensils that get her through the day. We spoke to Adrianne Calvo (who like Gordon Ramsey turns out to be nuts about HexClad) about her kitchen must-haves, including knife sets, frying pans and carving boards. And honestly, I filled my cart after I spoke to her.

  1. Knife Set: A reliable knife set, like the HexClad Essentials Knife Set, is the backbone of any kitchen. This gorgeous set is made with real Japanese stainless damascus steel, pakawood handles, and with a magnetic knife block that shows them off while not taking up much room, It comes with an eight-inch chef knife, eight-inch bread knife, six-inch boning knife, five-inch utility knife, 3.5-inch paring knife and a nine-inch honing rod.
“I personally love all things HexClad,” Calvo says.
  2. Pans: Adrianne also tells us that she’s loyal to HexClad’s pans. The 10-inch Hybrid Non-Stick Frying Pan is compatible will all cooktops, dishwasher-safe and oven-safe up to 900° Fahrenheit. It also has a stay-cool handle to keep your hands safe.
  3. Cutting Board: Yes, all chefs have a favorite cutting board… and evidently, HexClad’s are another go-to for Chef Adrianne. The HexClad Walnut Cutting Board is perfect for chopping, slicing, or simply serving up charcuterie. It has a mild aroma and features a variety of natural hardwood colors.
  4. Nakiri Knife: Special for slicing veggies meat and fish, Adrianne loves the HexClad Damascus Steel Nakiri Knife. It matches the knife set above, but it’s like a mini cleaver that makes slicing effortless. In fact, she considers it to be her “go-to knife right now.
“It’s perfect for almost everything and has a great hand-feel to it,” she explains. “It’s great on the wrist as well.”
  5. Carving Board: Finally, the HexClad Carving and Cutting Board is one of Adrianne’s absolute favorite tools. You can use it to carve up meat or fish, chop veggies and more. She especially loves that it comes with a slide-out metal drip pan that can collect juices and scraps.
“The HexClad Carving/Cutting Board with a drip pan that duals as an ingredient bin is genius!” she tells us. “I use it all the time!”
