This week on South Florida’s visual arts scene, Miami’s Cesar Santos and Toronto’s Steve Driscoll have shows at galleries in Wynwood, the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami has an exhibition of paintings by Peter Wayne Lewis, and Artists in Resident in the Everglades are trying Kickstarter to fund billboards merging art and natural beauty.

▪ Waltman Ortega Fine Art presents a solo exhibition by Cuban-born, Miami-based artist Cesar Santos in its Wynwood gallery, 2233 NW Second Ave., Miami. Drawings features the artist’s most recent oil and mixed-media paintings, drawings and sculptural work. The show is on view through Oct. 6. For more information, call 305-576-5335 or visit waltmanortega.com.

▪ Toronto-based artist Steve Driscoll is showing his latest work at Røstad Edwards Fine Art, 97 NW 25th St., Miami. The gallery opened in Wynwood in May. For more information, call 305-857-8576 or visit rostadedwards.com.

▪ Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami unveiled Peter Wayne Lewis’ Beijing Booster, an exhibition of large abstract acrylic paintings on paper and linen created in the artist’s Beijing studio over the course of 10 years. In addition to the main exhibit, MOCA will also show selected works from Lewis’ self-titled “liquefied geometry” collection. The works are on view through Nov. 2. MOCA is located at 770 NE 125th St., North Miami. Call 305-893-6211 or visit mocanomi.org.

▪ Artists in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE), an organization supporting the subtropical wilderness within Everglades National Park through artist residencies and public outreach, has announced a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for its AIRIE Wild Billboards public art project. Original scenes on billboards and buildings, juried by a professional panel in Miami, are designed to expose the public to the fragile beauty of the Everglades. Proposed locations include SR 112 between the Design District and Wynwood, Tamiami Trail near Krome Avenue, Wynwood Walls or downtown Miami along I-95. The deadline for donations is Sept. 27 at 8 p.m. To contribute, visit kickstarter.com/projects/422008414/airie-wild-billboards/description.
