Miami Beach officials on Wednesday formally announced the selection of artists whose works will appear throughout the refashioned Miami Beach Convention Center, which will be closed for a long-awaited renovation following Sunday's Art Basel closing.
The artists are:
Franz Ackermann of Berlin, Elmgreen & Dragset of London and Berlin, Ellen Harvey of Brooklyn, Joseph Kosuth of London and New York, Sarah Morris of New York, and Joep Van Lieshout of Rotterdam.
“The commissioning of these public art works elevates the Miami Beach Art in Public Places porgram to a whole new level, bringing the best contemporary artists of our times to one of the world’s most popular destinations,” Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine said in a stement.
