Hailey Bieber Reacts to Claims She Deserves an Apology for Years of Hate

Hailey Bieber is speaking out after some fans claimed she deserves an apology for the hate she's faced through the years.

Bieber, 29, took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, April 22, to respond to viral comments that she actually is a "girls' girl" after years of internet trolls calling her a "mean girl."

"All good on the apologies 🙂‍↔️," Bieber wrote. "The therapy's already paid for. Save it!"

Fans shared their reactions to her post via X. "An apology would never be enough for what they made Hailey go through over a teenage relationship," one wrote, referencing Justin Bieber's romance with Selena Gomez.

Another added, "To anyone who forgot how serious the hate train on Hailey Bieber was and wants to brush it off like nothing happened. This thread is to you. And yes she's right, it's too late to switch up now."

After the second weekend of Coachella, Hailey, who shares son Jack, 20 months, with Justin, 32, was flooded with kind comments after she was seen pushing Billie Eilish on stage to be her husband's "One Less Lonely Girl."

"Hailey was such a girl's girl for this idc," one wrote via TikTok. "Alright, FINE. I like Hailey. There, I said it," a second added. A third commented, "She's an angel for this 🥰🥰."

Hailey first started receiving hate when she and Justin briefly dated while he was on a break with Gomez, 33, in 2015. Justin and Gomez then reunited in 2017 before breaking up for good in March 2018, ending their on-off relationship of eight years.

Months later, Justin proposed to Hailey, and they tied the knot in September 2018 in a New York City courthouse.

In October 2022, Hailey opened up about the timeline, telling Alex Cooper during an episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that there was no overlap with her and Gomez. She also shared that she and Gomez have "spoken" and cleared the air.

The following year, however, fans speculated that there was more drama brewing between the two.

After Gomez shared a zoomed-in photo of her eyebrows, Kylie Jenner, who is Hailey's longtime friend, posted a close-up selfie via her Instagram Story, along with a screenshot of her and Hailey on FaceTime, zooming in on their brows. Fans immediately speculated that the duo were throwing shade at Gomez.

Jenner responded to the chatter, writing via social media, "This is reaching. No shade towards Selena ever and I didn't see her eyebrow posts! U guys are making something out of nothing. This is silly." Gomez, for her part, said she "agreed."

"It's all unnecessary," she replied to Jenner's comment. "I'm a fan of Kylie!"

Gomez also defended Hailey that year, telling online trolls to stop speaking "hateful negativity."

"This isn't what I stand for," she added via Instagram. "No one should have to experience hate or bullying."

Hailey then thanked Gomez, who tied the knot with Benny Blanco in 2025, for her message, writing via her Instagram Story, "I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I."

She continued, "The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved. … Things can always be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended."
