Chick-fil-A is opening four new restaurants in the Miami area— and they are hiring

Fast food chicken chain Chick-fil-A will open four new restaurants in the Miami metropolitan area. The expansion of this franchise, known for their friendly customer service, chicken tenders and sandwiches, will create 500 full- and part-time jobs by 2025 in South Florida.

Interested applicants can begin filling out applications to join the Chick-fil-A team on the career opportunities page because the first of these four restaurants opened on October 3 in Coconut Palm, located at 11250 SW 248 St., and the next one will begin operating on Oct. 31, in Cutler Bay (18240 S. Dixie Hwy).

The other new restaurants will be located in Pinecrest at 13001 S. Dixie Hwy., and Homestead, at 3200 NE 8 St. They join the 35 Chick-fil-A restaurants serving the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale markets, including the one that opened in June in Miami Shores at 9190 Biscayne Blvd.

Chick-fil-A jobs in Miami

Part-time and full-time positions pay from $14 an hour and offer flexible hours, with Sundays off, as is customary for the chain founded in Atlanta in 1967.

Requirements for these jobs include a positive attitude, the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift 20 to 70 pounds.

The restaurants, independently operated by local owners, also offer scholarship opportunities to their employees, and the chance to learn the business. This year they have awarded 170 scholarships in the Miami area to their team members.

Many of the Chick-fil-A restaurant owner-operators started out as employees, such as Karyna Kaufmann, the owner of the Pinecrest restaurant who began working for the chain when she was 15.

Kaufmann joined the Chick-fil-A Leadership Development Program in 2015 to prepare for taking over restaurant management. In 2017, she achieved her goal of becoming an owner-operator of a restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, and then a location in the Dadeland Mall.

The first woman to run a Chick-fil-A franchise in Miami-Dade was Cynthia Bowles, who opened in the midst of the pandemic, in Hialeah (1600 W 49 St.), on the same street where her father, a Cuban immigrant, began his career in business selling fruits and vegetables. This Hialeah restaurant is unique in that the menu is in English and Spanish.

Popular chicken sandwiches

In addition to its classic, juicy and crispy breaded chicken breast sandwich, Chick-fil-A has a seasonal offering, the Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich, which has a spicy touch given by the pimento cheese and jalapeño, combined with honey.

Other fan favorites are the Banana Pudding Milkshakeand the Waffle Fries. They also have salads, such as the Cobb Salad, the Spicy Southwest, and the Market Salad (with vegetables and fruits of the day), that have less than 600 calories.

Donations in South Florida

Chick-fil-A, the nation’s third-largest fast-food chain, will celebrate the opening of the new Miami restaurants by donating $100,000 to Feeding America to support local hunger relief efforts through its partner, Feeding South Florida, to which it has contributed $425,000 since 2020.

All four restaurants are planning to participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, an initiative that redirects surplus food to soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and local nonprofits. To date, more than 186,000 meals have been created, according to a press release from the chain.

They are also providing free Chick-fil-A food for one year to 400 local heroes who make an impact in the Miami area.
