‘The Krampus’ brings the scary to Wilton Manors’ Abyss Theatre

Just a couple new items on the South Florida theater scene. At the Abyss Theatre in Wilton Manors, artistic director Erynn Dalton and company will try to scare the heck out of you with Santa’s evil sidekick, The Krampus. And at the lovely Deering Estate, Andie Arthur’s new Juliet Among the Changelings will get a reading.

▪ A figure from German folklore, The Krampus is Santa’s evil sidekick, sent to punish the naughty. The Krampus: Initiation will bring a spooky twist to the holiday season when it plays The Abyss Theatre in Wilton Manors Dec. 17-19.

▪ Lost Girls Theatre will present a free reading of Juliet Among the Changelings, a new play by Andie Arthur. Steven Chambers will direct actors Ashley Chang, Merry Jo Cortada, Sandi Stock and Krystal Valdes. The reading is at 8 p.m. Monday at the Deering Estate, 16701 SW 72nd Ave., Miami.
