South African show at Actors’ Playhouse canceled
Africa Umoja, the South African music and dance revue slated to make its South Florida debut on Thursday at the Actors Playhouse in Coral Gables, has been postponed. The cast and crew of the show, which was to have started a U.S. tour earlier this month, have not been cleared to enter the United States by immigration authorities. Ernest Kelly, the executive producer of Umoja’s U.S. tour, said officials told him the visas had not yet been issued because of paperwork problems, and not because of concerns about Ebola.
Kelly said he hoped to present the Umoja tour at a later date. Anyone who purchased tickets online may visit actorsplayhouse.org for a refund; for other ticketing questions call Actors Playhouse at 305-444-9293 or check at point of purchase.
