New York’s electric chamber ensemble, the Bang on a Can All-Stars, is headed for South Florida to perform its signature program (the Bang on a Can Marathon) with Miami’s Nu Deco Ensemble and Spam Allstars. The six members of the Bang on a Can All-Stars incorporate classical, jazz, rock, world and experimental music into their pieces.
Their concert at 8 p.m. June 6 at Miami Light Project’s Light Box at Goldman Warehouse will include co-founder (and recent Pulitzer Prize winner) Julia Wolfe’s Believing, co-founder Michael Gordon’s Yo Shakespeare, Louis Andriessen’s Workers Union and Philip Glass’ Closing.
