Miami’s Mad Cat Theatre Company will make its fifth appearance at the annual South Beach Comedy Festival at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when it debuts Earthquake, a new work by company member Jessica Farr. Antonio Amadeo stars as Trevor Winston, a Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright whose hard-hitting new script keeps getting altered by his fellow artists as it heads toward Broadway. Farr is directing the show, which also features Noah Levine, Bonnie Sherman, Caiti Wiggins, Andres Maldonado, Carey Brianna Hart, Michael Gioia and Amanda Corbin.

The one-night-only performance, a benefit for Mad Cat, is at the Gleason Room Backstage @The Filmore Miami Beach, 1700 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Tickets are $30 plus fees ($60 plus fees for VIP tickets). 305-673-7300, www.southbeachcomedyfestival.com or www.madcattheatre.org.
