The Rhythm Foundation will take over management of the landmark North Beach Bandshell, 7275 Collins Ave., presenting regular music and cultural programs under a contract with the city of Miami Beach. Among the programs that the Miami Beach-based world music presenters will feature at the MiMo-era open air amphitheater are a monthly dance band night with dance lessons in styles such as swing, salsa and disco; a winter jazz festival, and various dance, music and theater performances.
The Rhythm Foundation has frequently presented concerts at the venue, including its popular Heineken Transatlantic Festival, which this year will take place April 10-11, with acts including Afro-soul group Budos Band and idiosyncratic Chilean hiphop songstress Ana Tijoux.
