Concert celebrates the work of FIU composing grads

The New Music Miami ISCM Festival will hold its third alumni showcase on Wednesday to highlight the work of graduates from Florida International University’s Music Composition Program. Carlos Rafael Rivera, who scored the Liam Neeson film A Walk Among the Tombstones, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Then at 7:30 p.m., FIU’s NODUS Ensemble will perform works by FIU grads Jeffrey Herriott, Mirjana Petrovic, Federico Bonacossa, Catalina Von Wrangell, Khoi Dang and David Dean Mendoza.

The concert is free and open to the public. The performance takes place at the university’s Miami Beach Urban Studios, 420 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach. For information, call 305-348-0496 or visit wpac.fiu.edu.
