Documentary on Barry University’s Sister Jeanne O’Laughlin to debut

Sister Jeanne O’Laughlin, who served as president of Barry University in Miami Shores from 1981 to 2004, is the subject of a new documentary titled The Power Nun. The film by Florida Women of Achievement founder Scherley Busch will get its premiere at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Miracle Theatre, 280 Miracle Mile, Coral Gables.

O’Laughlin, celebrated as an educator and humanitarian, said in a statement, “It is the members of this community, both in and out of Barry’s gates, that have given me my greatest sense of success and accomplishments.” Tickets to the screening are $25 and available at www.floridawomenofachievement.org.
