Uma Thurman puts her best face forward

FOREVER YOUNG

Uma Thurman hasn’t pulled a 360 on her face like Renee Zellweger did, but the 44-year-old star of the new TV show The Slap certainly looked a lot, um, smoother at the NBC series premiere Monday night. Also where was the makeup? Her bare eyes and over-powdered skin didn’t help matters.

HEALTH STRUGGLE

Marc Summers hasn’t had a very good run the past few years, but his luck seems to be changing. The former Double Dare host revealed in a radio interview with Philadelphia’s Preston and Steve show that he is in remission after battling leukemia for close to five years. Calling the disease and its treatment “hell,” the 63-year-old Unwrapped host told hosts Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison that he “compressed” the illness because he feared it would affect his career. In August 2012, Summers had to have a series of facial surgeries after a serious crash while riding in the back of a taxi.

BABIES ON BOARD

Bethany Hamilton is cooking up a mini waverider. The 25-year-old — who lost her left arm in a shark attack in 2003 and was the subject of the subsequent book and movie Soul Surfer — shared a video saying she and husband, Christian youth minister Adam Dirks, were going to have a boy.

Also in a family way: Former Real Housewives of Miami cast member Lisa Hochstein revealed on Twitter that she is finally getting the baby she dreamed about after struggling with fertility issues for years. The 32-year-old Canadian and her plastic surgeon husband Lenny Hochstein turned to a surrogate and got lucky. “#blessed,” the former model posted along with three positive pregnancy tests. The unnamed woman is past the first trimester mark.

Sophie B. Hawkins froze her eggs and now, at 50, is pregnant again. The As I Lay Me Down singer, a single mom, said her motivation was giving her 6-year-old son a sibling.
