Olivia Palermo is known for her time on MTV’s Hills reality spinoff The City, but she’s also a serious fashion plate.

The New Yorker just doesn’t dress well. She’s helping others do the same with the launch of her second collection in partnership with Nordstrom’s house brand, Chelsea28.

The summer line called Olivia Palermo + Chelsea28, is comprised of nine staples, including a smart shirtdress, sophisticated meets comfy trousers, safari-style shorts and coordinated separates with breezy patterns.

The clothes “reflect how a stylish young woman is dressing today,” said Mark Tritton, president of Nordstrom Product Group. “Olivia Palermo is revered around the globe for her style. We know our customers look to her for fashion inspiration, and we saw her consistently on our inspiration boards as well. [She] was a very natural choice.”

Ranging in price from $68-$198, the easy peasy pieces became available on racks at Nordstrom Aventura Wednesday.

We talked to Palermo about her latest baby.

What inspired your latest collection?

We didn’t have a single inspiration. We just wanted to create great dresses and separates that are elevated and could be mixed and matched throughout your wardrobe. Versatility was an important goal — being able to wear one perfect item in multiple ways so you always feel polished and put together.

Can you pick a favorite?

The black and white coverup is my favorite for the summer; it’s very lightweight. It goes great with dresses or pants.

What are some style trends you are seeing for South Florida women this summer?

Stripes! Wide-leg pants, silk blouses and a pair of sunglasses to frame the face.

When you visit Miami, what do you usually pack?

Even though it’s warm down south I always bring a lightweight cashmere sweater, because you never know. I also pack bathing suits with some fun coverup options as well as shorts, skirts and definitely sunblock.

What is the favorite thing in your closet right now?

Probably a Pucci blouse with an attached scarf. I am loving scarves — we have a great midi-dress with a tie at the neck — and I’m working on a few for Chelsea28.

Which celebrities do you think have a great sense of style to covet?

Marion Cotillard always looks great on the red carpet. But I often encounter very fashionable women while I’m traveling abroad.
