Here’s to hoping everything is OK in Rita Wilson’s world. The actress-singer was due to make a stop at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts on April 14 in support of her second studio album, Rita Wilson.
But the costar of such big-screen comedies as It’s Complicated and Sleepless in Seattle canceled the performance “due to unforeseen circumstances.”
Last spring, Wilson, aka Mrs. Tom Hanks, announced that she had undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. In December, the 59-year-old producer (My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2) announced she was cancer-free. So the cancellation may have nothing to do with her health. Especially since a very recent Instagram post showed her dancing with Mario Lopez.
People reports that a California driver named Terry Moogan is suing Hanks and Wilson after their son, aspiring rapper Chet Hanks, allegedly rear-ended him in Los Angeles last year. In court documents obtained by the magazine, Moogan accuses the 25-year-old, who has had public struggles with addiction, of driving “under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.”
Wilson posted a Tweet on Wednesday with the words, “When you feel like crying and you have to keep a happy face.”
Hidden meaning? We don’t know. But she does have a great voice. You can hear Rita here.
