Great news: Paxton Ingram of Miami advanced on last Monday’s round of blind auditions NBC’s The Voice, securing a spot on Team Blake (Shelton) after performing a spot-on version of Robyn’s Dancing on My Own.

Shelton remarked, “I don’t know that I’ve ever recognized true greatness so quickly.”

The former backup dancer for the likes of Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears is naturally quite pumped — as well as happy to be out front for a change.

“It’s fun being a part of the background and being a part of the whole production side of it and being part of the show,” said Ingram, who teaches hip-hop classes at Show Stoppers Studio in Hialeah. “But to actually be the focus is like the ultimate feeling because for myself when I was dancing I would always crave that feeling to be, you know, the center of attention. So to actually end up in the shoes of where I wanted to be is kind of awesome. It’s rewarding. It’s great.”
